Trunk show preview begins at 6:00 pm for VIP ticket-holders.
Maui Arts & Cultural Center and the PA’I Foundation present MAMo at the MACC for the fifth consecutive year.
The event was launched in Honolulu in 2006. A component of the Maoli Arts Movement, the wearable art show celebrates Hawaiian design in fabric and clothing—specifically in terms of cultural motif—in a way that makes it more than just a runway fashion show. Many traditional Hawaiian patterns and designs—in kapa and weaving, weaponry and tools, tattoo and adornment—take their visual clues from nature.
This year's designers include Kanoelani Davis (PōMahina Designs), Anna Kahalekulu (Kūlua Designs), Micah Kamohoaliʻi (Dezigns by Kamohoali‘i), Kawika Lum-Nelmida (Kawika Lum Designs), Lufi Luteru (Pāwehi Creations), Kēhaulani Nielson (Kahulale'ā), Ari South, and Manaola Yap (Manaola).
This fashion event, definitely NOT a typical fashion show, grows in popularity each year, so don’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience!
VIP ticketholders get exclusive access to the trunk show before the performance; all other ticketholders are invited to visit the trunk show at the conclusion of the program.
Tickets: $35&$45/reserved seating; $65/VIP, includes 6pm trunk show preview & meet-and-greet with the designers (plus applicable fees)
