Maui Pride, Deborah Vial, and Caron Barrett present a special screening of Equal Means Equal, an unflinching look at the status of women in America.

This engaging film reveals society's conscious and unconscious gender bias and the importance of ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.  The film was written, directed and produced by Kamala Lopez (photo right). 

Equal Means Equal would not be the definitive documentary about women in America today without the depth and breadth of its interview subjects' expertise, passion and help. Gloria Steinem, Patricia Arquette, Eleanor Smeal, NOW President Terry O'Neill, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and a multitude of other lawyers, doctors, scholars, law enforcement officers, politicians, rape victims, warriors on the front lines of sex trafficking, international policymakers, prominent public intellectuals and American activists are among those interviewed for Equal Means Equal. 

Equal Means Equal will be preceded by a courtyard social hour featuring the music of Cheryl Rae with special guest, Maui’s own, Kurt David Russell.
