Join us for the latest iteration of ACTIVATIONS: After Hours at the Gallery, featuring an evening of music, chant, dance, and poetry that come to life in and around Schaefer International Gallery.
This program is held in conjunction with the exhibition Ocean of Peace, a group exhibition featuring six artists of Micronesian heritage who integrate the beliefs and practices of their cultures with lived experiences in the Hawaiian Islands to build connections across island chains.
Expanding on the themes present in the exhibition, performances of Micronesian artistry will unfold throughout the night, including song and chant by Uncle Harry Smau, Pohnpeian dance group Hamilton, poetry by Carol Ann Carl, Gillian Dueñas, and Mary Hattori, and beats by DJ Ramwa.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase for outside dining and social mingling.
