We invite families to visit Schaefer International Gallery and experience the exhibition Altered Earth, which features diverse and fascinating approaches to ceramic and earth-derived materials.

Exhibiting artist Sarah Metz (photo left) of Maui will be in the gallery to share about her sculptures of kāhuli land snails.


Outside of the gallery, channel your inspiration and get creative (and a little messy) at activity stations: sculpt a miniature clay piece, make a seedball, use earth materials to create paintings, and see pottery demonstrations by local ceramicist Tom Kamijo!






ABOUT THE ALTERED EARTH EXHIBIT:
This invitational exhibition features ten contemporary ceramic artists with connections to Hawai‘i who will develop new bodies of work that explore the medium of clay and earth-derived materials through a diverse breadth of processes.  The gallery is open Tue-Sat, 10am to 4pm.  Free admission.  The exhibit runs through Sat, Oct 19.   Click HERE for more details on the exhibit.
